Emergent Pricing and Emergent AI Pricing With the Real Cost per Credit
Emergent sells its AI app builder by the credit. Every prompt, build, test and deployment spends credits, so the plan price only tells you half the story. This page prices every Emergent plan and top-up per credit from Emergent's own pricing page and help docs, and shows the two numbers most guides miss.

Emergent has a Free plan at $0 with 10 credits a month, Standard at $20 a month ($17 billed annually) with 100 credits, and Pro at $200 a month ($167 billed annually) with 750 credits. Business and Enterprise are custom priced and add SSO, role-based access and audit logs. Extra credits cost $0.20 each in packs up to 500 credits and about $0.167 each in the 3,000 and 6,000 credit packs, and they never expire. Every deployed app costs 50 credits a month, so one live app uses half of the Standard allowance.

The challenge
Most Emergent pricing articles copy the plan cards and call Pro the best value per credit. On Emergent's own numbers it is the opposite: a Pro credit costs about $0.27 against $0.20 on Standard, so you pay more per credit for Pro features, not less. The other surprise is hosting. Emergent charges 50 credits a month for every deployed app, which quietly halves a Standard plan the day your first app goes live. Some review sites still list a $300 Team plan that Emergent's pricing page no longer shows.
How AgentMarketplace handles it
Price Emergent the way it bills. Count the apps you will keep live, because each one costs 50 credits a month before you write a single prompt. Estimate how many build credits you burn in a normal month, then buy the cheapest mix: Standard plus top-ups usually beats Pro until you need Pro's 1M context window, Ultra Thinking or custom agents. If the thing you are building is really a recurring business workflow, compare it with a ready-made agent at a flat monthly price before you commit credits to building it.
How much does Emergent cost?
Emergent costs $20 a month on Standard and $200 a month on Pro, or $17 and $167 a month on annual billing. The Free plan costs $0 and includes 10 credits a month, which is enough to try the builder but not to deploy, since deployments, GitHub sync and top-ups start on Standard. Business and Enterprise have no published price; both go through a demo with Emergent's sales team.
Annual billing saves exactly what the pricing page says: $36 a year on Standard and $396 a year on Pro. Here is the full-year cost of each paid plan:
| Plan | Monthly billing, 12 months | Annual billing | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $240 | $204 | $36 (15%) |
| Pro | $2,400 | $2,004 | $396 (16.5%) |
Prices are in US dollars. Emergent's help center describes upgrades as prorated: move from Standard to Pro on day 15 of a 30-day cycle and you pay $100 for the rest of the Pro month minus a $10 credit for unused Standard days, so $90 is due immediately, and the credit difference is added to your balance at once. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal.
How do Emergent credits work?
Emergent credits are the unit for every piece of AI work on the platform: generating an app from a prompt, changing code, building the front end and back end, running tests, debugging and deploying. Emergent's docs put it plainly: everything consumes credits, and when the balance hits zero, development pauses until the plan renews or you buy more.
- Subscription credits reset every cycle. The 100 credits on Standard and 750 on Pro are allocated monthly and do not roll over.
- Top-up credits never expire. They stay in your balance across months, across plan changes and even after you cancel.
- Monthly credits are spent first. Emergent draws from the subscription allowance, then from top-ups.
- Running out freezes building, not your app. At zero you can still open projects, edit files by hand and view deployments, but you cannot generate code, run tests, deploy new builds or use AI debugging.
Emergent does not publish a fixed credit cost per action, because a prompt that touches one file and a prompt that refactors ten are very different jobs. That makes your own first two weeks the only reliable estimate. Watch the balance after a normal day of building and multiply out before you pick a plan.
Emergent cost per credit on every plan and top-up
Dividing each price on Emergent's pricing page and help center by the credits it buys gives the real unit price. This is the table to budget from:
| How you buy | Price | Credits | Cost per credit | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard, annual | $17 a month | 100 a month | $0.17 | Each cycle |
| Standard, monthly | $20 a month | 100 a month | $0.20 | Each cycle |
| Pro, annual | $167 a month | 750 a month | About $0.223 | Each cycle |
| Pro, monthly | $200 a month | 750 a month | About $0.267 | Each cycle |
| Top-up, introductory | $1 | 5 | $0.20 | Never |
| Top-up | $20 | 100 | $0.20 | Never |
| Top-up | $50 | 250 | $0.20 | Never |
| Top-up | $100 | 500 | $0.20 | Never |
| Top-up, 20% bonus | $500 | 3,000 | About $0.167 | Never |
| Top-up, enterprise bundle | $1,000 | 6,000 | About $0.167 | Never |
Two things stand out. First, the cheapest credits on Emergent are not on Pro. Standard billed annually and the two big top-up packs all come in at about $0.17 a credit, while monthly Pro is the most expensive way to buy a credit anywhere on the price list. Second, top-ups cost the same $0.20 as a Standard subscription credit up to 500 credits, and they never expire, so a buyer with uneven months loses nothing by topping up instead of upgrading.
Is Emergent Pro worth it over Standard?
Emergent Pro is worth it when you need its features, not its credits. Pro adds a 1M token context window, Ultra Thinking mode for complex builds, system prompt editing, custom agent creation, machines with twice the performance and priority support. Those matter on a large codebase or a full SaaS product. For credits alone, Standard plus top-ups is cheaper:
| You need a month of | Standard plus top-ups | Pro, monthly | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 credits | $20 plus $40 (200 credits) = $60 | $200 | Pro costs $140 more |
| 500 credits | $20 plus $80 (400 credits) = $100 | $200 | Pro costs $100 more |
| 750 credits | $20 plus $130 (650 credits) = $150 | $200 | Pro costs $50 more |
| 3,100 credits | $20 plus $500 (3,000 credit pack) = $520 | $200 plus top-ups to 3,100 = about $670 | Standard costs about $150 less |
At 750 credits the gap is $50 a month, and that $50 is the real price of Pro's features. If Ultra Thinking and the bigger context window save you more than $50 of rework a month, take Pro. Emergent's own help page suggests upgrading once you buy two or more top-ups a month for a better ratio of dollars to credits; on the published prices that holds for annual Pro against small top-ups, but not for monthly Pro, so check which billing period you are comparing.
What does it cost to deploy an app on Emergent?
Deploying an app on Emergent costs 50 credits a month per deployed app. That covers managed production hosting, uptime monitoring, SSL, custom domains, and environment variables and secrets. At Standard's $0.20 a credit, that is $10 a month per live app, paid out of the same balance you build with.
| Live apps | Hosting credits a month | Dollar value at $0.20 | Left for building on Standard (100 credits) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50 | $10 | 50 credits |
| 2 | 100 | $20 | 0 credits |
| 5 | 250 | $50 | Needs 150 credits of top-ups just to stay live |
This is the number agencies miss. An agency hosting five client apps on Emergent spends 250 credits a month on hosting alone, before any client asks for a change. Two more details from Emergent's docs: a deployment keeps running after you cancel as long as 50 credits stay in the account, and using Replace instead of Redeploy creates a new app, so check you are not paying twice for an old deployment.
Does Emergent have a team plan?
Emergent's pricing page, read on October 5, 2026, shows no self-serve team plan. It lists Free, Standard and Pro for individuals, then Business and Enterprise at custom prices behind a demo. Business adds single sign-on, role-based access control, shared team workspaces and real-time co-editing; Enterprise adds user-level credit limits, audit logs, self-hosted database support, deployment in your own cloud and credit usage reporting.
Several review sites still quote a Team plan at $300 a month with 1,250 shared credits. We could not find that plan on Emergent's own pricing page, so treat it as historical unless Emergent quotes it to you. What Emergent's docs do describe is Projects: an owner funds a project by moving credits from their own wallet, invites members, and members spend the project's credits. It is a free organizational layer, but the docs say it is designed for solo builders in the current release and that editor and viewer roles are still on the roadmap.
What a real Emergent budget looks like
Three typical US buyers, priced on Emergent's list prices with hosting included:
| Buyer | Usage | Cheapest setup | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo founder building one MVP | About 150 build credits, 1 live app | Standard annual plus 100 top-up credits | $17 plus $20 = $37 |
| Small business owner running 2 internal tools | About 200 build credits, 2 live apps | Standard plus 200 top-up credits (or Pro annual for its features) | $60 ($167 on Pro annual) |
| Agency with 5 client apps | About 600 build credits, 5 live apps | Standard plus a 3,000 credit pack, used over several months | About $145 ($20 plan plus 750 pack credits at about $0.167) |
The pattern holds across all three: the plan fee is small and the credit burn decides the bill. Hosting is a fixed monthly drain, so the more apps you keep live, the more Emergent behaves like a hosting bill with a builder attached.
Emergent pricing compared with Lovable, Replit, Base44 and v0
Emergent sits in the same market as the other prompt-to-app builders. Entry prices from each vendor's own pricing page:
| Tool | Entry paid plan | What the entry plan includes | How it meters | SSO |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emergent | Standard $20 a month ($17 annual) | 100 credits, deployments at 50 credits per app a month | Credits per AI action, top-ups never expire | Business, custom price |
| Lovable | Pro $25 a month | 100 credits, shared across unlimited members | Credits per build action | Business, from $50 a month |
| Replit | Core $20 a month ($18 annual) | $20 of usage credits, 5 builders | Dollar credits for agent and cloud usage | Enterprise only |
| Base44 | Starter $16 a month billed annually | Message credits plus integration credits | Message credits | Enterprise only |
| v0 by Vercel | Plus $30 per user a month | $30 of credits per user | Dollar credits at per-token rates | Enterprise only |
Emergent's edge is the top-up that never expires and full-stack apps with a database and mobile builds out of the box. Its weak spot for teams is collaboration: no self-serve team plan, while Lovable allows unlimited members on one subscription. For the full plan detail on each rival, see our Lovable pricing, Replit pricing, Base44 pricing and v0 pricing pages.
When a ready-made AI agent costs less than building on Emergent
Many Emergent projects are not products. They are internal tools that automate one recurring job: a lead intake form that enriches and routes leads, a dashboard that pulls invoices from email, a scheduler that books client calls. On Emergent that job costs the build credits plus 50 credits a month to keep it live, and every change to it costs more credits.
If the job already exists as a product, a ready-made agent is usually cheaper and faster. Agents on AgentMarketplace start at $49 a month flat, connect to the tools you already use with permissions you can revoke, and do not bill per credit or per token. Browse the agent catalog by category before you spend a month of credits building something that is already built, or see how the per-seat and per-credit models compare in our AI agent platforms guide.
Frequently asked
Your questions about Emergent pricing
How much does Emergent cost per month?
Emergent costs $20 a month on Standard with 100 credits and $200 a month on Pro with 750 credits. Billed annually, Standard is $17 a month and Pro is $167 a month. The Free plan is $0 with 10 credits a month and no deployments. Business and Enterprise are custom priced through a demo.
How much is one Emergent credit?
One Emergent credit costs $0.20 on monthly Standard and in top-up packs of up to 500 credits, about $0.17 on annual Standard and in the 3,000 and 6,000 credit packs, and about $0.27 on monthly Pro. Top-up credits never expire, while subscription credits reset each billing cycle.
Do Emergent credits roll over?
No for subscription credits, yes for top-ups. The monthly credits included in Standard and Pro reset every billing cycle and do not carry over. Credits you buy as a top-up never expire, survive plan changes and cancellation, and are spent only after your monthly credits run out.
How much does it cost to host an app on Emergent?
Hosting costs 50 credits a month for each deployed app, which is $10 a month at the Standard rate of $0.20 a credit. It includes managed infrastructure, uptime monitoring, SSL, custom domains and secrets. A deployment stays live after you cancel as long as the account holds at least 50 credits.
Is Emergent Pro better value than Standard?
Not per credit. A monthly Pro credit costs about $0.27 against $0.20 on Standard, and Standard plus top-ups to 750 credits costs $150 against $200 for Pro. Pro is worth it for its 1M context window, Ultra Thinking, custom agents and faster machines, which cost about $50 a month at that usage level.
Is there an Emergent team plan?
Emergent shows no self-serve team plan on its pricing page as of October 5, 2026. Teams go on Business, which is custom priced and adds SSO, role-based access, shared workspaces and real-time co-editing. Some review sites still list a $300 Team plan, but Emergent no longer shows it.
Is Emergent free?
Emergent has a Free plan with 10 credits a month, which covers a short trial of the builder. It does not include deployments, GitHub integration, custom domains or top-ups, so any app you want to put in front of customers needs at least Standard at $20 a month.
Can I cancel Emergent and keep my app online?
Yes, for a while. After you cancel, unused monthly credits expire at the end of the cycle, but top-up credits stay. Emergent keeps a deployment running as long as the account has 50 credits for its monthly hosting charge, so a balance of top-up credits keeps the app online after the subscription ends.
