The short answer: Replit and Lovable cost almost the same to start, and neither charges per seat. Replit Core is $20 a month ($18 billed annually) and hands the whole fee back as $20 of usage credits. Lovable Pro is $25 a month ($21 billed annually) for 100 credits plus daily build credits. The gap opens at scale. Replit discounts credits up to 20% on its larger Pro tiers and publishes every hosting rate. Lovable lets unlimited people build on any plan and includes SSO on its $50 Business plan, which Replit only offers on Enterprise.

Most "Replit vs Lovable" articles compare the apps they built. That matters, but it does not tell a team lead what the tool will cost after the first month, because both products meter usage rather than seats. Below we price both from replit.com/pricing, Replit's billing docs, lovable.dev/pricing and Lovable's subscription and credits docs, all read on September 29, 2026. For the full Replit rate card, including hosting and credit packs, see our Replit pricing breakdown.

What a credit buys on each

This is where the comparison gets slippery, because the two companies use the word credit for different things.

A Replit credit is a dollar. Core's $20 of credits is $20 of spending power, drawn down by Agent checkpoints, published apps, databases and storage. Agent work is priced by effort, one checkpoint per request, and Replit shows the cost of each checkpoint after it runs but publishes no fixed rate for one. Core and Pro also include a Free Mode allowance for everyday Agent work that resets every five hours and costs nothing.

A Lovable credit is a unit whose dollar price depends on the plan. Lovable publishes example costs: making a button gray is 0.50 credits, removing a footer 0.90, adding sign-up and login 1.20, and building a landing page with three generated images 1.70. Plan Mode costs 1 credit per message. On top of the paid balance, Pro and Business get 5 free build credits every day, 20 Cloud credits a month for hosting and 4 credits for AI features inside your app.

Put a price on Lovable's credit and it looks like this:

Lovable tierMonthly priceCreditsPrice per creditTypical feature request at 1.2 credits
Pro 100$25100$0.25$0.30
Pro 800$200800$0.25$0.30
Pro 2,000$4802,000$0.24$0.29
Pro 10,000$2,25010,000$0.225$0.27
Business 100$50100$0.50$0.60

Two things stand out. First, Lovable's volume discount is shallow. The 10,000 credit tier is only 10% cheaper per credit than the 100 credit tier on monthly billing, and annual billing adds roughly two months free on top. Replit's Pro tiers run from 10% to 20% off face value on annual billing, so a heavy Replit team gets a deeper discount. Second, a Business credit costs twice what a Pro credit costs. Lovable says hosting and in-app AI cost the same dollar amount on either plan, so Business deducts fewer credits for those. Its build examples are not listed per plan, though, which means building on Business costs roughly double per message. You are paying for SSO and governance in the credit price.

What a team actually pays

Both vendors sell capacity, not seats, so the right way to compare them is by team shape. Here is the cheapest plan that fits each case on each product, on annual billing, before any usage beyond the included credits.

TeamReplitLovable
3 people, no SSOCore, $18 a month, $20 of creditsPro 100, $21 a month, 100 credits
10 people, no SSOPro, $90 a month, $100 of credits (Core caps at 5)Pro 100, $21 a month, 100 credits (no member cap)
10 people, heavy buildingPro 500, $425 a month, $500 of creditsPro 2,000, $400 a month, 2,000 credits
25 people, SSO requiredEnterprise, commitment basedBusiness 400, $167 a month, 400 credits

The 10 person row is the one that surprises most buyers. Replit's builder caps push a 10 person team onto Pro at $90 even if it barely uses Agent, while Lovable lets the same 10 people share a $21 plan. Once the team builds every day, the difference narrows, because both bills are driven by usage. At 25 people with an SSO requirement, which is common the moment a US company's security review gets involved, Lovable Business is a published price you can buy today, and Replit requires an Enterprise commitment.

Hosting and running the app

Replit publishes its hosting rate card and cut most rates on August 1, 2026: autoscale compute is $0.60 per million compute units, requests $0.40 per million, outbound data $0.05 per GiB, and database storage $0.35 per GiB a month. Database compute stays at $0.16 per active hour, and a database only suspends after 5 minutes without queries, so an app that polls constantly can run about $117 a month in database time alone. All of it comes out of the same credits as Agent.

Lovable folds hosting into credits and covers small apps with its monthly 20 credit Cloud grant, which it says is enough for most new apps. Past that, Cloud usage for database, storage, compute and realtime draws from the general balance. Lovable does not publish a per-unit hosting rate on its pricing page, and it describes the Cloud and AI grants as temporary and subject to change. For a small internal app, that makes Lovable simpler to budget. For a high-traffic app, Replit's published rates make it easier to forecast.

Where each one gets expensive

  • Replit gets expensive when a team with 6 to 15 people uses Agent lightly but still has to pay for Pro, when a database never idles, and when a team tops up with credit packs, which discount only 0% to 5% against 10% to 20% on Pro tiers.
  • Lovable gets expensive when a team needs SSO and every build message costs twice as much on Business, when credits expire unused after two months, and when an app outgrows the monthly Cloud grant with no published rate card to forecast against.

Both get expensive the same way: using an app builder to rebuild a tool that already exists. A surprising share of first internal apps are a competitor price tracker, which Replit even features in its own use-case docs. If watching rival prices and page changes is the whole job, a dedicated tool that tracks competitor prices and website changes costs less than paying credits to build, host and maintain your own. The same goes for recurring ops work such as ticket triage, weekly reports or spreadsheet reconciliation, where a ready-made agent from the catalog runs the task at a flat price with no build or hosting credits at all.

Which should you buy?

Buy Lovable if the builders are product, design or ops people rather than developers, if more than 5 people need to build but usage per person is light, or if you need SSO without an enterprise contract. Buy Replit if you have a developer who will own the code, if the app needs a real backend, background jobs or mobile builds, or if your usage is high enough that a 15% to 20% credit discount matters more than seat flexibility.

For every Lovable tier with its price per credit, see our Lovable pricing guide, and if Replit is not the only rival on your list, our Lovable alternatives priced for teams adds Bolt, v0, Base44 and Cursor.

If the team is choosing between an app builder and a coding agent for developers, the pricing model is different again: Cursor pricing and our Codex vs Claude Code pricing comparison cover the per-seat side, where a developer costs $20 to $40 a month before overage. And for work that should not be built at all, browse the ready-made agents above, priced flat from $49 a month.
