Open the full listing →The short answer: Base44 is cheaper to start, Lovable is usually cheaper to run as a team. Base44 Starter costs $16 a month billed annually against about $21 for Lovable Pro, and both price the workspace with no seat fee. But Base44 credits expire every month while Lovable credits roll over, Base44 needs Builder at $40 for GitHub sync, and SSO costs an Enterprise contract on Base44 against $50 a month on Lovable Business. For one builder on a tight budget, buy Base44. For a team, price Lovable first.
Most Base44 vs Lovable comparisons are written by one of the two vendors or by a third app builder selling itself, and they compare features. A US buyer choosing between them needs the bill. Every number below comes from Base44's pricing page and billing docs and from Lovable's pricing page and subscription docs, read on October 1, 2026. For every plan in detail, see our Base44 pricing breakdown and our Lovable pricing guide.
Base44 vs Lovable pricing side by side
| What you are buying | Base44 | Lovable |
|---|---|---|
| Entry paid plan | Starter, $16 a month billed annually or $20 monthly | Pro, $250 a year (about $21 a month) or $25 monthly |
| Credits at entry level | 100 message credits plus 2,000 integration credits | 100 credits, plus 5 daily build credits |
| Plan ladder | Starter, Builder $40, Pro $80, Elite $160 (annual) | Pro tiers from 100 to 10,000 credits, $25 to $2,250 a month |
| Price per build credit | $0.16 annual, $0.20 monthly (Elite $0.133) | $0.21 annual, $0.25 monthly (falling to $0.225 at 5,000) |
| Seat fees | None, one shared pool | None, unlimited members |
| Unused credits | Expire at the monthly reset | Roll over, valid 2 months on monthly plans |
| Code export | GitHub sync from Builder ($40) | Git sync on every plan, download on Pro |
| Per-member credit caps | Enterprise only | Pro and above |
| SSO | Enterprise only, custom price | Business, from $50 a month |
The per-credit row needs one caution. A Base44 message credit and a Lovable credit are not the same unit, but they land in the same range: Base44 puts a simple text change at about 0.5 credits and an app-wide change at 3 to 4, and Lovable's own examples run from 0.50 credits for a small style change to 2.00 for a landing page with generated images. For planning, treat one credit on each as roughly one small change.
What one builder pays on Base44 vs Lovable
For a solo founder building one MVP, Base44 Starter at $16 a month billed annually is the cheapest way into either product, about $60 a year less than Lovable Pro on annual billing. Lovable claws some of that back with 5 free build credits a day on Pro, which can add up to about 150 extra credits in a month when you build daily.
The gap closes as soon as you want your code in GitHub. Base44 puts GitHub integration, backend functions and model selection on Builder, at $40 a month billed annually or $50 monthly. Lovable includes Git sync even on its Free plan. A developer-minded founder who wants the repo from day one is comparing $40 on Base44 with about $21 on Lovable, and Lovable wins.
What a 10-person team pays
Here is a 10-person product and ops team building two internal apps, at about 800 build credits a month, priced at list. These are our estimates from the published plans, not vendor quotes:
| Plan that covers 800 build credits | Annual billing, per month | Monthly billing | Governance included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lovable Pro, 800-credit tier | About $167 | $200 | Per-member credit caps, user roles |
| Base44 Elite, 1,200 message credits | $160 | $200 | One owner, no Admin role, no member caps |
| Lovable Business, 800-credit tier | About $333 | $400 | Adds SSO, role-based access, API |
| Base44 Enterprise | Custom quote | Custom quote | SSO, SCIM, member caps, data residency |
On raw price the two are a tie, because Base44 Pro stops at 500 message credits and the next step is Elite. Base44 Elite does give you 400 more build credits and 50,000 integration credits for the money. The difference is control. On Base44's self-serve plans, nothing stops one enthusiastic editor from spending the whole month's pool in a week, because member caps are an Enterprise feature. Lovable sells that control on Pro.
Rollover is where Base44 gets expensive
Base44 credits reset every month on your subscription date, and unused message and integration credits expire, even on annual plans. Lovable credits on a monthly plan stay valid for two months, and on an annual plan they last until one month after the term ends.
That matters for real teams, because build work is lumpy. Take a team that needs 1,000 build credits in its launch month and about 200 in each of the next five. On Lovable annual billing it can sit on the 400-credit tier ($1,000 a year, about $83 a month) and bank the slack from quiet months against the busy one, though Lovable issues credits monthly, so a spike in month one only works if it lands after a few quiet months. On Base44 it must either hold Elite for the launch month or run short and wait for the reset, because nothing carries forward. Over a year, a team with uneven demand pays for more unused credit on Base44 than the lower sticker price suggests.
Running a live app costs differently on each
Base44 splits the meter in two. Message credits pay for building, and a separate pool of integration credits pays for what the live app does: about 1 credit per email, 1 per file upload, 1 per LLM call on the Automatic model, 5 on Gemini 3 Flash and 15 on GPT-5.4, and about 3 or more per in-app agent message. Builder includes 10,000 integration credits a month, Pro 20,000 and Elite 50,000. Calls to an outside service with your own API key cost nothing, which is the easiest way to keep a busy app on a smaller plan.
Lovable runs hosting, its built-in backend and in-app AI out of the same credit balance the team builds with, charged in dollar value at $0.25 a credit on Pro and $0.50 on Business, with small monthly hosting and AI grants on top. A busy Lovable app therefore competes with the team's build budget, while a busy Base44 app competes only with other apps.
Both products stop paid features when the money runs out. On Base44, every action that uses credits pauses until the next reset or an upgrade, including the emails and AI steps inside published apps. On Lovable, AI features in published apps stop and apps on the built-in backend pause shortly after. For anything customers use, watch the usage page on either product weekly and size for your busiest month.
SSO and security for business buyers
If your security team requires single sign-on, the decision is close to made. Lovable Business adds SSO, role-based access and training opt-out by default from $50 a month at the 100-credit tier. Base44 puts SSO, SCIM provisioning, IP allowlists, US, EU or UK data residency and per-member caps on Enterprise, priced through sales. Base44 Enterprise is the more complete governance package, and it also lets you switch off Superagents across the workspace, but you cannot buy any part of it self-serve.
Base44 or Lovable, which should you buy?
Buy Base44 if you are one builder or a very small team, you want hosting, a database, auth and email in one bill, and your app runs mostly on the Automatic model. Builder at $40 a month billed annually is the realistic starting plan. Buy Lovable if more than a few people build, if your usage swings month to month, if you want the code in Git from day one, or if you need SSO without an Enterprise contract. If you are still weighing other app builders, our Lovable alternatives price comparison adds Bolt, v0, Replit and Cursor for a 10-person team.
One last check before either purchase. A lot of team credits on both products go into internal tools that repeat one job every day, and those keep spending after the build is done. If the tool you are about to build is really a reporting view across your ad accounts, a ready-made marketing dashboard for blended ROAS and CAC is likely cheaper than building and hosting your own. If it is lead research, ticket triage or invoice intake, browse our AI agent catalog, where agents run for a flat $49 a month with no per-email or per-AI-call charges.
