Gorgias costs $40 a month on Starter, $90 on Basic, $550 on Pro and $1,430 on Advanced with AI Agent added and monthly billing, and about 14% less on annual billing for the three larger plans. Every plan includes a fixed number of tickets and AI automated interactions. Past those limits you pay $0.36 to $0.40 per ticket and $1.50 per automated interaction, and a ticket that AI Agent resolves on its own is charged both fees.

That last rule is what most Gorgias pricing guides skip, and it is the one that decides your bill once AI Agent starts doing real work. The figures below come from gorgias.com/pricing and Gorgias's billing documentation, read on September 21, 2026. If you are weighing Gorgias against a CRM that bills its support agent in credits, our HubSpot credits pricing page converts HubSpot's Customer Agent rate into dollars the same way.

On Starter, the $10 helpdesk and $30 AI Agent split is the monthly price. The split shown for the other plans is Gorgias's annual figure; on monthly billing, Gorgias's own billing example prices Basic's 300 tickets at $60 a month.

Gorgias says it is "never priced per agent," and the seat column backs that up: 500 users on every plan from Basic up. For a brand with a large seasonal team, that is the single biggest difference from seat-priced help desks.

How Gorgias bills tickets and AI resolutions

Gorgias charges a helpdesk ticket fee for any ticket with at least one message sent from the helpdesk, "whether the message is sent by a human agent, AI Agent or an automatic message from a Rule." On top of that, AI Agent carries an "outcome-based automation fee" when it resolves a ticket without handing it to a person. Gorgias's documentation spells out the three cases:

What happens on the ticketTicket feeAutomation fee
AI Agent answers and resolves it with no humanYesYes
AI Agent answers, then hands over to a humanYesNo
Flows, Order Management or Article Recommendations resolve it with no humanNoYes
A shopper ignores a search assist greetingNoNo

Overage rates by plan, from the compare table on the pricing page:

PlanExtra ticketsAI Agent, per included automated interactionAI Agent, past your limit
Starter$0.40 per ticket$1.00$1.50
Basic$40 per 100 tickets$0.90$1.50
Pro$36 per 100 tickets$0.90$1.50
Advanced$36 per 100 tickets$0.85$1.50

Put the two together and a ticket AI Agent resolves past your limit on Pro costs $0.36 plus $1.50, or $1.86. That is the real marginal price of an AI resolution on Gorgias, and it is roughly double the $0.90 headline. Accounts created before May 28, 2025 may still be on Gorgias's legacy pricing model, so check your Billing and usage page before comparing.

What Gorgias costs for a real Shopify brand

Take a US apparel brand with 3,000 support tickets a month, where AI Agent resolves 30% of them, or 900 tickets. All 3,000 count as helpdesk tickets, because the 900 AI resolutions pay the ticket fee too.

LinePro, annualAdvanced, annual
Plan price$471$1,227
Ticket overage1,000 over x $0.36 = $360None (5,000 included)
AI overage710 over x $1.50 = $1,065370 over x $1.50 = $555
Monthly total$1,896$1,782

Two things fall out of this. First, the bigger plan is cheaper at this volume even though the brand uses only 60% of its ticket allowance, because the AI allowance is what runs out. Second, the bill rises as AI Agent gets better: at a 50% resolution rate the same brand pays about $2,796 a month on Pro. That is the point of outcome pricing, but it means a budget set in January will be wrong by November if the AI keeps improving. Gorgias's documentation suggests raising your usage limits from the Billing and usage page if you regularly exceed them; get the per-interaction rate for the higher limit in writing before you do.

November deserves its own line in the budget. A Black Friday week can double ticket volume, and every AI resolution past the allowance costs $1.50 plus the ticket fee. It is also worth checking the bill against what support is actually earning you: a brand that sells across Shopify, Amazon and Etsy can pull every marketplace payout into one income ledger and see whether a $1,900 support bill is 2% of monthly revenue or 12%.

Gorgias alternatives and what they charge

The fair comparison is cost per AI resolution plus whatever you pay for the help desk around it. These are the published rates as of September 2026:

ToolHelp desk pricingAI resolution priceWhere it fits
GorgiasBy ticket: $40 to $1,430 a month, no seat charge$0.85 to $1.00 included, $1.50 past the limit, plus the ticket feeShopify and ecommerce brands that want order actions built in
HubSpot Service Hub with Customer Agent$100 per seat a month on Professional, $150 on Enterprise$0.50 per resolved conversation (50 credits)Brands already running their CRM and marketing in HubSpot
FinWorks on your existing help desk; Intercom help desk seats are extra$0.99 per outcome, 50 outcome monthly minimumTeams that want to keep Zendesk, Gorgias or another desk
Zendesk$19, $55 or $115 per agent a month, billed yearlyBilled per automated resolution, rate not publishedLarger multichannel teams with non-ecommerce support too

Gorgias wins when your team is big and your ticket volume is moderate, because a 25 person team pays nothing extra for seats. It also wins on Shopify depth: its AI Agent can cancel orders, apply discounts and handle returns in the store without a custom integration. HubSpot's $0.50 is the lowest published resolution rate, but only if you already pay for Service Hub seats. Fin is the choice when you want AI on top of the help desk you have, and its full rate card is on our Fin AI agent pricing page. Zendesk is hard to price for AI at all until sales sends a quote; our comparison of Zendesk AI agent pricing against Fin shows how to estimate it.

When a flat-priced agent costs less than Gorgias AI

Per-resolution pricing makes sense when your AI handles a wide spread of questions. It makes less sense when most of the volume is two or three repeat jobs. For many Shopify brands, "where is my order" and return or refund requests make up a large share of all tickets. A focused agent that handles exactly those jobs, at a flat monthly price, does not get more expensive as it resolves more.

That is what our catalog lists: ready-made agents like an Order Concierge for order status and a Refund Resolver that checks eligibility against your policy in Shopify and Stripe, each with a flat monthly price and its permissions shown before you deploy. Browse them on AI agents for Shopify or across AI agents for ecommerce. You can run one alongside Gorgias to take the repeat tickets off the per-resolution meter.

Gorgias pricing questions

How much does Gorgias cost per month?

Gorgias costs $40 a month on Starter, $90 on Basic, $550 on Pro and $1,430 on Advanced when billed monthly with AI Agent added, or $77, $471 and $1,227 a month on annual billing for Basic, Pro and Advanced. Each plan includes a set number of tickets and automated interactions, and extra usage is billed as overage.

How much does Gorgias AI Agent cost?

Gorgias lists AI Agent at $1.00 per automated interaction on Starter, $0.90 on Basic and Pro and $0.85 on Advanced for the interactions included in the plan. Past that limit, each automated interaction costs $1.50. A ticket the AI resolves also pays the normal helpdesk ticket fee, so the true marginal cost on Pro is $1.86.

Does Gorgias charge per user?

No. Gorgias prices by ticket volume, not by seat. Starter includes 3 user seats and Basic, Pro and Advanced include 500, so adding agents does not raise the bill. Tickets and automated interactions do.

Is Gorgias cheaper than Zendesk?

For a team with many agents and moderate volume, usually yes, because Zendesk charges $19 to $115 per agent a month and Gorgias does not charge per seat. For a small team with very high ticket volume, Zendesk seats can come out cheaper. Zendesk does not publish its AI resolution rate, so compare AI costs from a written quote.
