As of 2026, the AI is bundled into ServiceNow's three AI-native ITSM seat tiers, Foundation, Advanced, and Prime, and then metered on top through consumption Assist pools, where a large agentic action costs roughly 150 assists and a small one about 25. The two things you actually pay for

ServiceNow restructured its ITSM licensing in April 2026, collapsing the old five tiers into three AI-native ones. Each tier bundles Now Assist and unlimited Virtual Agent into the per-user seat. That is the first cost: the seat itself, which now carries an AI-native premium whether or not every user leans on the AI.

The second cost is consumption. Now Assist actions draw down a pool of "assists," and not every action costs the same. Your tier comes with a pooled allowance; exceed it on a heavy month and you are into per-unit overage, which is negotiated at renewal rather than posted on a page.

A worked example

Say you license 200 ITSM agents at an Advanced-tier estimate of roughly $120 a seat. That is about $24,000 a month, or $288,000 a year, in seats alone. Now layer on the AI.
